Lael's Creative Corner... and SEA WEED!!

Usually I show you Lael's artwork. Today, I thought I would share some of her other talents. Lael's is a health nut. In a good way. She is super trim, healthy and strong!! (100% total opposite of ME!! Give me my M&M's!!)

Today's super green smoothie creation Lael calls:

"What the Kale?!"  (AMEN!!
1 1/2 c Kale, the juice of 4 oranges, 1 fresh mango chopped, 1/4 c coconut water, 2 Tbs. fresh mint, 6 ice cubes.

Mix in the blender till smooth.

NOW... I want some pity for ME!!!  Lael made me EAT THIS!!!!  Sea Snacks!! Lael says she is addicted to them. They are tissue paper thin salted pieces of sea weed.  SEA.WEED!!  Tissue PAPER crunchy THIN salted green seaweed.

I asked "Why am I eating this??!"
Lael: "because they are so GOOD!!"
"No. Not really. So again..... WHY am I eating this??
Lael: "they are one of the healthiest foods on earth"
Fine. I ate a whole serving. Went home and researched.  I guess they are good for you.

So here is what I found about SeaSnax: Seaweed is rich in minerals such as iodine, calcium, sodium, magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc, copper and selenium. Also, seaweed provides fiber, vitamins, enzymes and high quality proteins. Sea vegetables also have a higher proportion of essential fatty acids than land plants! One sheet of raw nori usually contains about .5 grams of omega-3 fatty acids.

Seaweed is rich in minerals and vitamins including iodine and iron, calcium and vitamins B1, B6, C and E.
Seaweed is low fat, low carb, gluten free and sugar free. Also, the iodine found in the seaweed stimulates the thyroid, increasing metabolism and therefore burning more calories. So, stock your cabinets with SeaSnax and lose the chips!

I swear Lael is determined to make me healthy no matter how much kicking and screaming I do!!

And of course Lael's artwork!!

As with all things..."Perspective is Everything"

  3. I think I might want to pass on this, I can barely gag down cooked spinach although I do like raw spinach in a salad.
