A to Z April Challenge Letter D

Dog. Gracie isn't really a dog she's more like our baby. Gracie is a 7 year old American Lab.
We were blessed enough to have first pick of the litter. I knew she was the one when she fell asleep in my arms and started snoring!! (Ummmm yea... 7 years later and at 100 pounds, it's a REALLY loud snore!!)

Gracie is a super smart baby! She gives hugs, she shakes hands, she gives kisses.

DH (dear Husband) has Multiple Sclerosis and Gracie is an amazing companion. Gracie is never further than a step away from DH, so if he needs help Gracie is there waggin' her tail ready! We truly would be lost without Gracie in our family!

Not including, spouse or kids..... what would your family be lost without?

A to Z Challenge: Blog everyday except Sunday (per the rules) with my theme being what makes me happy, what inspires me and what makes me ME!!!  So be prepared for more information about me than you ever wanted to know!!

  1. My sister had a Golden Retriever for many years until he died. He was a wonderful dog.

  3. Our dog of 14 years died a couple of years ago. While she was a pain in the rump, she was "our" pain. She was my first baby and my kids' first friend. Something about the love and loyalty of a dog that just can't be found elsewhere.

  4. Service dogs are amazing. I have a friend whose son has spina bifida (sp?) and has always had a service dog. Canine companionship is some of the finest on earth. As for me, I don't have anything I couldn't live without, although lots of things I appreciate greatly. :) Happy D day.

  6. Awww! She's beautiful!

We would be lost without our guinea pig though all she does is eat all day, poop and pee every few seconds!

  8. Not including spouse or kids, I guess my family would be lost w/o our "baby" dog too: Cugly. Daughter named him cute + ugly because that's how she felt! He's been great to us.

  9. Dogs are such an integral part of the family, aren't they? It's my dog's birthday today. We're going for a big long family walk to celebrate. ;)

  12. Oh I think you remember when we lost our lab/ Great Dane, named Buddy! It was awful he was 150 lbs. Still miss the big ole lug! He would let the little ones ride him, crawl all over him and sleep on him. :)

  16. We have lots of animals, so of course parting with them is a sad but inevitable part of life. Probably the one that will leave the biggest hole in our lives is Gypsy, our Husky mutt. She is one of a kind.

  17. Our family would certainly not be the same without the animals we care for. Let's see, that's 9 dogs, 13 cats, one mynah bird, two turtles and some 40 chickens. :-)

  23. So lucky of you to have Gracie (and I'm sure vice versa considering how you talk about her)! We don't have a pet yet so until then our family can't live without milk and cheese. :)

Thanks for stopping by my A-Z. --New follower.

  25. I was hoping for a cute dog picture and I sure got one! Dogs just make everything better, don't they? They're so full of personality - it would be fun to know what they're thinking. Looks like Gracie picked herself the perfect owners!

  26. A great pet is a faithful dog always there for you. Sad to say we had to put our big dog down and he stuck like glue to my oldest son but it had to be done. I love dogs tho they can be a pain at times too

  27. Gracie is a beautiful dog. Years ago, we had a yellow lab named Sonny and a black lab named Molly. Poor Sonny was adorable, but not too smart and hated the water. LOL Molly was beautiful, smart, and loved to swim. Yep, you guessed it; she was mine and Sonny was my husband's dog. We teased each other, but truth be told, they were BOTH our dogs and loved immensely. Now we have one Rat Terror (oops, did I say that?) I meant Terrier. My husband says he's spoiled but he's the one doin' the spoilin'! He can sit, stay, lie down, shake, high five, and "dance" for a treat. Now if only we could get him to feed himself and "poop scoop", we'd have it made!
