Garnier Olia Hair Color

Shhhh... don't tell anyone but, I color my hair.  Today I tried a new hair color product from Garnier. It's called Olia. It's a oil powered permanent color.

I love trying new things and I'm so glad I tried this!!!!

I was intrigued with the shape of the bottle. Very new age-y. You mix both the colorant and the developer into the tear drop shaped empty bottle. That was a little awkward, the directions say to pour both in at the same time.  Ummm that didn't work really well, so I settled on alternating colorant and developer. (That explains why they recommend putting the black gloves on before combining ingredients. Like how I worked in the color of the gloves? I've just never had a hair color come with black gloves before!) The bottle is large around the bottom, I found it really hard to hold.  It's too big around the base to comfortably squeeze and apply to my hair. Next time I use Olia, I'm going to try putting some masking tape around the bottle maybe that will make it easier to handle.
The bottle is truly my only complaint!! First the color stayed PUT on my head. I had absolutely NO dripping!! The color also didn't change on my hair. When I color my hair the dye changes and usually it looks pretty scary by the end of the 20 minutes. This color stayed a milky color.  Rinsing was very weird, instead of seeing a dark color in the sink, the water was a milk color.  WHAAA?!?!  First thought when I was rinsing was 'Did I buy the right color?'  Answer?  OH MAN did I ever!!!  This is the most amazing hair color I've ever used!! EVER!!
My hair is amazingly shiny! My hair has depth, shine and softness.  My gray is gone! WITHOUT that odd color at the temple that doesn't color the same.
I can honestly say this is now my go to hair color.  I love this STUFF!!!
Unlike traditional hair color, Olia uses exclusive 60% oil blend, with natural flower oils, in the colorant.  The unique oil based formula maximizes the coloring process to achieve permanent color results. It propels colorants deep into the hair, without ammonia, for pure, vivid, long-lasting color. Olia visibly improves and restores the look of hair, as oils help to reverse the roughness and dullness for softer, shinier hair with bounce.
Seriously LOVE this STUFF!!!!

Disclosure I received complimentary products for being a Bzz Agent for the purpose of my review. No other compensation was provided. The opinions are mine and 100% honest. I have not been influenced in any way.

  2. Interesting. I've never tried oil based hair color, but it sounds like a great way to avoid drying out your hair.
